On behalf of the Executive we would like to thank the Members of the Society for their contribution this year. As with all charitable organisations the volunteers who donate their valuable time and talent make us the must-see theatrical experience of Southland. We must also thank our generous supporters and sponsors who give us the ability to stage the shows the Invercargill public expect from us. Congratulations also to those who assisted us in staging this years major production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Another fantastic Stephen Robertson and Production team masterpiece. Thank you also to those members of the Superstar Cast and the previous year's Oliver! cast who recently performed at the Christmas Variety Concert at the Civic, great Ambassador's for the Company.Next year we look forward to staging Dusty, The Original Pop Diva with Stephen again at the helm. IMT also are looking for a Theatre Restaurant concept for the new stadium so send your applications to the Manager. All there is to say now is Merry Christmas to you and your families and we'll look forward to seeing you next year for Dusty!!
Merv and Margaret Cook farewell

Last Friday IMT hosted a farewell gathering for Life Member Merv and his wife, society member Margaret Cook. It was attended by current and past members all paying homage to the outstanding contribution they both had made to and for the company. Merv and Margaret are moving to Australia for Merv's work and will be sadly missed. On behalf of the Society, the Executive presented them with a lovely gift and reminisced about all the years that Merv and Margaret had with the company. We wish them both luck and hopefully they will continue to visit albeit occasionally in the future.

Last night at the Southland Entertainment Awards IMT presented 4 awards and performed for the first time at this great occasion. Congratulations goes to:
Jesse Johnson for Best Newcomer
Melanie Bradley received the Hoofers Award for Best Dancer
Nathan Hughes for Best Lead Performance
Julie Smith for Outstanding Contribution
A special mention as well to Merv Cook for receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.
All in all it was a fantastic night and a big thank-you to all those who participated on behalf of the society at this event.
Southland Entertainment Awards

As well as the Christmas Variety Concert IMT will participate in what was formally the Entertainer of the Year awards in association with the Southland Musicians Club. IMT will be presenting 4 awards at Southland's premier entertainment event this year. As well as the awards some of Southland's best talent will be on display some of whom are member's of IMT. Rehearsals this Sunday

Rehearsals for the IMT items for the Christmas Variety Concert start this Sunday under the Direction of Julie Smith and Choreographer Paula Gilroy-Schmidt. IMT have been given 2 brackets one in each half. We will performing items from previous shows including Jesus Christ Superstar and Oliver, as well as a couple of numbers with the entire concert ensemble. This is a great opportunity to give something back to the Invercargill public that have supported us over the years. The concert is on the 20-21st December 2 performances on both days. More info as it comes to hand.
Christmas Variety Concert

As part of this year's Christmas at the Civic Variety Concert. IMT will be doing a medley of previous show numbers including a song from our production of Jesus Christ Superstar. This promises to be a great evening's entertainment with alot of IMT's previous Cast members also performing. Rehearsals will be starting soon, more info as it comes to hand.
